From A to Z – Yield and Zealous

Últimas duas letrinhas do alfabeto! Tá acabando!

Yield

In English, to give forth by a natural process, especially by cultivation.

The apple trees yielded an abundant harvest.

In English, to furnish as return for effort or investment. Um exemplo:

Such investments yield direct cash returns.

To give over possession of, as in deference or defeat; surrender; to give up the control of or responsibility for something, often because you have been forced to. Um sinônimo pra yield, nesse contexto, é give up. Exemplos:

Despite the pressure to give up the occupied territory, they will not yield.

I yielded my seat to the speaker.

Eu dei (“cedi”) meu assento para o palestrante.

Ufa!

A próxima:

Zealous

The detective was zealous in her pursuit of the kidnappers.

They were zealous missionaries.

The council was extremely zealous in the application of the regulations.

Enfim, todas as definições que eu vi em inglês pra zealous eram alguma variação de filled with or inspired by intense enthusiasm or zeal; ardent; fervent.

Boa sorte!!!

Henry had an uncanny ability to taunt the others. But it was not his fault. He was diagnosed with xenophobia.
He used to be a vivacious and witty personality that helped people on streets and smile for them to make their lives better, because he always knew if there was a problem, there was a solution, no matter who was in need.
Maybe he squandered his talent too much. Maybe his capacity of yielding good things to the world is gone. No one knows the destiny of the young guy who was supposed to be the humanity salvation.

This morning, she was taunted by an uncanny black bird. It wasn’t xenophobia, but she didn’t like him. She tried to keep vivacious, but she though about him all way to work. Arriving, she didn’t squared the opportunity and did an equity investment. In the next morning, that bird was there, but he didn’t bothered her. When she arrived at work, she found out that her investments was yielding, and she was extremely zealous. So, she though about that bird again and, as a witty person, she wondered if that bird was a lucky one.

So sorry :(
    Corrigindo:

Jenny is very witty and vivacious that yesterday Jenny yielded her lunch to her friend Helen because Helen squandered the opportunity to win a pay lunch. Jenny taunted Helen to not squander the opportunity but she didn’t listen. Their boyfriends were very different, one had xenophobia and an uncanny sense of direction and the another is very, very zealous.
